Job Responsibilities: Cecil College is providing a course that is designed for small-to-mid-sized business owners who work with Quicken as their approach to accounting and are seeking to obtain certification in the product. This instructor position provides ongoing classroom instruction and facilitation of training in preparation for the Intuit Quickbooks Certified User Exam. The curriculum covers how to set up a chart of accounts; reconcile checking accounts; create and print invoices, receipts, and statements; track account payables; inventory and receivables; create estimates, and generate reports. The instructor will aid in the growth of this program by delivering classroom instruction on an ongoing basis. Additional responsibilities include: Documentation of students’ attendance and academic progress by giving and grading examinations and accountability standards. Database proficiency and familiarity with timely data entry. Interpretation of Quickbooks curriculum and ability to effectively communicate learning objectives. Training on the Intuit Quickbooks Certified User Exam will be provided to instructors, if needed Other duties as assigned. Requirements: Expertise in Intuit Quickbooks software and its application. Knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping skills and ability to communicate in a classroom setting. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills Professional attitude and a desire to help students succeed. Desired skills/experience: Prior teaching experience Be a Quickbooks Certified User and/or CPA with prior experience with Quickbooks Based upon the budgeted hours of a position, contribution to the Maryland State Retirement Pension System may be required. *We are committed to ensuring equal opportunity and non-discrimination in all hiring and employment practices.
