Virginia Dare Extract Co., Inc. is a privately held innovative flavor company headquartered in Carteret, New Jersey.-- Founded in Brooklyn, New York in 1923, the Company is proud of its long heritage, respectful of the environment in which it operates, supportive of its employees and customers, and passionate about its business.--We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to support us in our new corporate headquarters in Carteret, New Jersey.-- The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for sourcing materials, negotiating contracts, and managing suppliers.--Responsibilities:Oversee and execute purchasing and supply chain strategies that align with company goals.Managing supplier relationships, including resolving any issues that arise.Identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities.Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to ensure favorable terms.Coordination with internal groups such as planning and production to ensure sufficient availability of materials and regulatory to ensure compliance.--Create and maintain purchase orders for raw materials, supplies and samples.Strengthen supplier management system, including KPI's and scorecards to monitor and evaluate supplier performance.Review and refine current procurement process and enhance to increase efficiencies.Tracking of costs to support inventory costing.--Conduct comprehensive market analysis to ensure products are competitively priced and manage multiple supplier relationships to ensure availability and quality standards.Attributes:Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Science or a related fieldMinimum of 5 years of professional experience in purchasing, strategic sourcing, commodities management, supplier qualification, negotiations, contracting, and supply managementStrong analytical and negotiation skills with ability to secure favorable pricing and develop strong supplier relationshipsKnowledge of logistics and supply chain management principlesUnderstanding of purchasing & MRP systemsProficient in Word and ExcelExcellent written and oral communication skillsExperience in food/flavor manufacturing industry is preferred
