SOHA Structural Engineers is accepting applications for an in-person Structural Design Engineer position to join our team in San Francisco. We are looking for candidates who have a minimum of 2 years experience in design engineering of buildings and structures utilizing one or more of the following construction materials: concrete, steel, masonry and wood (basic fundamentals of wood design as a minimum). Additionally, we have a strong mentorship program for junior engineers - we look for self-starters who take ownership of their work and quick learners - are you a superstar in the making?Responsibilities Structural analysis, design and basic detailing for various types of buildings and materials using applicable building codes. Coordination of design work with in-house staff as well as other design professionals including Architects and other Engineering disciplines Assist in preparation of the construction documents and other discipline's coordination. Effectively communicate with the Principal-In Charge, Project Manager and Engineer, and other design team members. Sufficient knowledge and proficiency with basic engineering software.Qualifications 2+ years of experience designing various structural engineering projects. Master's degree in structural engineering is preferred; undergraduate degree from an ABET accredited engineering school is required. Professional Civil Engineer license is preferred; EIT Certification is required. Experience with basic engineering software.Desired Traits Friendly, respectful, calm, and professional Curiosity with problem-solving skills. Fast learner and not afraid to ask questions.
