With integrated expertise across various mammalian cell based workflows, we are committed to ensuring our customers are able to achieve successful clinical outcomes.We are looking for an experienced Scientist 2 with a background in cell-based screening to join our Preclinical Services department. As a Scientist 2, you will be delivering innovative and complex arrayed compound and functional genomic screens in a diverse range of 2D and 3D cell-based models from cancer cell lines through to primary immune cells. Your primary role will be in the custom arrayed screening team; however, as part of an integrated and dynamic department you will work closely with other teams (e.g. the high-throughput cell panel screening team, teams delivering pooled CRISPR screens and our cell line engineering team) and will need to adapt to cross-functional roles, as required, to support overall project, departmental and company goals. Key responsibilities: Plan and perform compound and/or CRISPR-Cas9 screening experiments using secondary and primary cells 2D and 3D models including primary human immune cells in accordance with project aims and specification Engage with customers and Revvity colleagues on a scientific level to understand research requirements and successfully deliver data that answers the key scientific questions Interpret experimental data, troubleshoot, discuss results, and identify next steps Prepare high quality client facing data packages and reports, clearly disseminating the results of your work Maintain an awareness of current and emerging techniques/technologies and apply these to your research Contribute to commercial activities including attending customer-facing pre-sales calls with other team members. Utilise your skills and knowledge to contribute to the testing and development of the wider Revvity portfolio of reagents, instruments and applications. Follow and give instructions, comply with company policies and be an effective team member in supporting the research and development functions in Revvity Essential Competencies & Requirements: Hold a relevant PhD or equivalent work experience Extensive experience of mammalian cell culture, excellent aseptic technique and performing various cell-based assays, such as those commonly employed at Revvity (https://www.revvity.com/gb-en/category/preclinical-services) A background in a relevant disease area and the ability to quickly learn new techniques and areas of biology Proven experience and enthusiasm for using, adapting, and developing cell-based screening assays Proven ability to disseminate research results, e.g., in reports, presentations and peer reviewed journal publications Flexible and able to work in a dynamic team environment, working collaboratively to achieve shared goals and objectives Excellent planning/organizational skills with a careful and meticulous nature Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow, and give instructions, and comply with company policies Desirable Competencies & Requirements: Experience of pooled and arrayed high-throughput assays, use of automation and handling large datasets including data QC, analysis, generating relevant graphical representations etc Experience isolating and handling primary immune cells and performing standard immunological and flow cytometry assays, such as those commonly employed at Revvity (https://www.revvity.com/gb-en/category/immune-cell-screening) Experience with transfection/electroporation and techniques to modulate gene expression in mammalian cells, e.g., CRISPR-Cas9, siRNA, shRNA etc Experience in a wide selection of assay read-outs, e.g., high content imaging, qPCR, HTRF Experience of working in an industrial setting PDN-9c0dbd51-2eeb-410c-937f-65c0a7540138
