DETAILS OF POSITION Location: Santa Maria & Lompoc / Full-time: Monday - Friday / Hours: 7:00 am - 3:30 pm with some flexibility / Starting Rate: $22.28/hour PURPOSE OF POSITION VTC Enterprises has been supporting people with developmental disabilities since 1962. Part of fulfilling our mission includes providing individuals with community experiences to develop and promote their independence.We are seeking a motivated Assistant Program Manager to help manage programs and activities to ensure the successful implementation of VTC's overall mission. The Assistant Program Manager will be involved in the daily operations of programs designed to assist VTC individuals in attaining their highest potential within the community. In this position, the Assistant Program Manager is responsible for case management, funding and scheduling among other duties for the Day Programs at VTC. For more information vis i t our website: www.vtc-sm.org Essential Functions and Responsibilities Program Management: Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the daily schedule and activities for program participants. Help maintain a safe and comfortable environment for participants by ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations. Collaborate with the Program Manager in developing and updating program policies and procedures. Client Care and Support : Provide assistance as needed to include following support plan guidelines, toileting, or skill development. Monitor and support client’s well-being, mental health, and emotional needs. Administer medication, as required, in accordance with program polices and guidelines. Staff Supervision: Responsible for hiring, termination, training and supervision of assigned staff. Provide guidance and support to staff to ensure they maintain high standards of care and professionalism. Assist in staff scheduling and coordination of duties. Activity Planning: Contribute to the planning and implementation of engaging and purposeful activities for program participants. Evaluate the effectiveness of activities and suggest necessary adjustments. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for assigned clients, including care plans and approval of daily activity records. Prepare and conduct annual Personal Centered Planning meetings as well as any Interdisciplinary Team meetings for assigned clients. Prepare reports, as requested. Ensure compliance and reporting requirements of regulatory bodies are timely and accurate. Communication with Family, Care Providers and Funding Agencies: Communicate with families and care providers to provide updates on client’s progress and address concerns. Support families in understanding and navigating the program’s offerings and services. Communicate with funding agencies as needed or required. Budget and Resource Management: Assist in managing program finances, including budgeting process, cost control, and procurement of necessary supplies. Ensure efficient use of available resources to maintain the program’s sustainability. Qualifications Education and/or experience: For Assistant Managers who have an additional duty of licensing compliance, a Bachelor’s Degree is required with degrees in a social or related field preferred plus a minimum of five years of direct care experience. For the other Assistant Manager positions, a minimum of eight years of direct care experience in the industry. Previous supervisory experience a plus Communication skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents or governmental regulations in English. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals using concise and grammatically correct English. Ability to respond effectively to most sensitive inquires or complaints and can speak clearly in positive or negative situations. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to Individuals served and other employees. Ability to lead a meeting. Interpersonal skills: Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with Individuals served, coworkers and management. Establish rapport and gain the trust of others. Interact diplomatically with the public. Foster a stimulating, accepting learning environment. Ability to mediate between contending parties or groups. Ability to work as part of a team or collaborate with coworkers. Analytical skills: Ability to analyze information, problems, situations, practices or procedures in order to define a problem or objective; identify relevant concerns or factors; identify patterns, tendencies and relationships; formulate logical and objective conclusions; and recognize alternatives and their implications. Self-management skills: Perform effectively in environments with frequent workload changes and competing demands. Perform with frequent interruptions and/or distractions. Prioritize assignments to complete work in a timely manner. Take action when answers to a problem are not readily apparent in confusing circumstances. Reasoning ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of issues during the workday. Ability to think through the consequences of a decision prior to making it. Ability to recognize an emergency situation and take appropriate actions. Make appropriate job decisions following VTC policies and past precedents. Computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office applications to include Outlook, Excel & Word. Proficient in client database programs. Certificates, licenses, registrations: Maintain First Aid, CPR and CPI Certifications. Must have a valid driver’s license with an insurable record. Must have an insured vehicle available for use during the course of employment. Other skills and abilities: Must meet and maintain Community Care Licensing criminal history criteria.
