Staff Geologist Requisition Number: 2024-1800-15 S&ME is looking for a motivated and passionate Staff Geologist to join our Environmental team in Duluth, Georgia . Are you ready to contribute your education and knowledge to meaningful projects? Join us at S&ME! As a Staff Geologist , you'll operate under the guidance of a Licensed Geologist, contributing to diverse environmental and geotechnical design projects for Energy, Industrial, and Government clients. These projects encompass a broad spectrum, including underground storage tanks, bulk storage facilities, pipelines, landfills, mining, stormwater management, and erosion control initiatives. Your Day-to-Day: Field and Office Work : Performing hydrogeological investigations, environmental evaluations, and project support, involving drilling soil borings, installing monitor wells, classifying soil and rock, conducting in-situ permeability testing, and sampling soil, groundwater, and gas for chemical analysis, alongside office tasks such as preparing data tables, presenting data graphically, and comparing data to regulatory standards. Construction and Environmental Inspections : Performing inspections and communicating with vendors, and internal and external clients. What You Bring: A Bachelor's degree in Geology or a closely related field 0-3 years of Geology experience The eligibility to obtain the Professional Geologist (PG) license within 4-5 years Well-organized with the ability to multi-task and prioritize work Excellent verbal and written communication skills Working Conditions and Physical Demands: You are willing and able to perform the physical demands of this position with the use of Company-provided Personal Protective Equipment such as: Working outdoors in varying weather conditions Traveling out-of-town (typically overnight) for assignments as necessary Working outside of normal business hours when necessary We Are S&ME: For over 50 years, our collaborative approach to geotechnical, civil, environmental, and construction materials has offered innovative solutions to solve our clients' most complex challenges.
