EOEPosition Information: The Med Lab Scientist II performs routine and specialized laboratory tests and other procedures for use in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. -Utilizes requisite equipment, instruments, and computer systems. Evaluates and reports patient results using considerable independent judgment within the scope of established testing methods. -Updates knowledge, skills and applies appropriately. -Maintains age-specific and other required competencies. -Performs quality control procedures and contributes to the maintenance of the laboratory, equipment, and supplies. -Assists in the development and implementation of new procedures, instrumentation, etc. May assume responsibility for one or more laboratory projects or functions - i.e. PI, safety, quality control, regulatory, administrative, staff development, computer (LIS, HIS, hospital intranet, PC applications), etc. Trains new employees and/or students in the theoretical and operational aspects of procedures and evaluates their work. -Acts as a resource for less experienced co-workers. -Performs other duties as assigned. -Works both independently and as part of a team with general supervision/periodic review by supervisory staff.Experience Requirements: 2 Years Clinical - Clinical Laboratory - Moderate and High Complexity Testing PreferredEducation Required: Associate's Degree Medical Laboratory Technology Required - And Bachelor's Degree Clinical Laboratory Science Or Bachelor's Degree Medical Technology PreferredLicensure/Certification Requirements: And National Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel Certification Required - Or Equivalent Education RequirementHours of Work: every other friday- sunday 7p-7aWeekend Requirements: Every OtherCall Requirements: as needed
