Who We Are: As a recognized leader in space science research and spacecraft instrumentation, avionics, and electronics, we work to reveal the secrets of our solar system and the universe. Objectives of this Role: Develop code to model light propagation thru planetary atmospheres and enable atmospheric retrieval thru occultation observations. Internship for local student for Spring 2024 semester Daily and Monthly Responsibilities: Research similar techniques in use in reflection seismology. Write and test code that applies these techniques for light propagation thru planetary atmospheres. Submit a paper to the appropriate journal describing and demonstrating these techniques. Requirements: Must be pursuing a PhD in Planetary Science 1 year: Academic experience with python and numpy and scipy packages. Academic experience with Astronomical data reduction.
