Description:
St. Lawrence School on the northside of Indianapolis is hiring a ENL Director for 2024-2025. The ENL Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the English as a New Language program within Saint Lawrence Catholic School. They provide leadership, guidance, and support to ENL teachers and staff to ensure the academic success of English language learners (ELLs) and compliance with relevant regulations and standards. Key Responsibilities: -Program Development and Implementation: -Develop, implement, and evaluate ENL curriculum, instructional materials, and programs to meet the diverse needs of ELLs. -Monitor and assess the effectiveness of ENL programs, making adjustments as necessary to improve student outcomes. Supervision and Support: -Provide supervision, support, and professional development opportunities for ENL teachers and staff. -Conduct regular classroom observations and provide feedback to improve instructional practices. -Serve as a resource for ENL teachers, offering guidance on best practices, instructional strategies, and cultural sensitivity. Student Assessment and Progress Monitoring: -Oversee the assessment of ELLs' English language proficiency using appropriate tools and methods. -Analyze data to track students' progress, identify areas for improvement, and develop targeted interventions. -Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding the assessment and placement of ELLs. Parent and Community Engagement: -Foster positive relationships with parents/guardians of ELLs, providing information and support to enhance their involvement in their children's education. Administrative Duties: -Manage budgetary and administrative aspects of the ENL program, including resource allocation, procurement, and reporting. -Maintain accurate records of ELL enrollment, attendance, and academic progress. -Prepare reports and presentations for stakeholders, including school boards, administrators, and funding agencies. Qualifications: -Valid ENL license -Several years of teaching experience, preferably in ENL/ESL education. -Demonstrated leadership experience in an educational setting. -Strong knowledge of second language acquisition theories, ENL instructional strategies, and cultural competence. -Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. -Experience working with diverse student populations and understanding of equity issues in education. -Familiarity with relevant state and federal regulations, such as Title III Job Posted by ApplicantPro
