The ideal candidate will have a strong background in employee benefits and executive compensation matters, including drafting, design, implementation, and administration of various plans, as well as taxation issues related to executive compensation arrangements.Duties:Provide legal advice and support on a broad range of employee benefits and executive compensation matters.Draft, review, and negotiate agreements related to retirement plans, health and welfare benefit plans, and executive compensation arrangements.Assist in the design, implementation, and administration of tax-qualified and non-qualified retirement plans.Handle executive compensation and benefits aspects of mergers and acquisitions, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.Address taxation issues about executive compensation arrangements, including Sections 409A and 280G of the Internal Revenue Code.Collaborate with internal teams and clients to assess and mitigate legal risks associated with employee benefits and executive compensation.Requirements:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.Admission to the Illinois State Bar (or ability to waive in).3+ years of experience practicing law with a focus on employee benefits and executive compensation matters.High level of academic achievement.Prior experience in a law firm environment is preferred.Exceptional writing, drafting, and communication skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Education:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.Certifications:Admission to the Illinois State Bar (or ability to waive in).Skills:Proficiency in drafting legal documents and agreements.In-depth knowledge of employee benefits and executive compensation laws and regulations.Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide practical solutions.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools.
