This Part-Time Prep / Cook position is an essential member of our Supportive Living Dining Services Team. This role preps and packages items for sale in our Café. This position also has a crucial role every other weekend as the Line Cook. Weekday - 5-6 hours a day Monday, Wednesday, and Friday with flexibility as to the morning start time Every other weekend as Line Cook from 10:00am - 6:30pm *ONLY EVERY OTHER WEEKEND* Ideal candidates will have the ability to be focused, creative and follow recipes. H ospitality experience and a passion for food, both quality and presentation are also critical to this role. We will give you the tools and training you need to be successful! **Compensation based on experience **$12-$13.50 Key Responsibilities include (but not limited to): Follow recipes, menu notes and production sheets accurately to prepare the correct amount of each item daily. Prepare, season, and cook meals for our Supportive Living residents. Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized kitchen while always adhering to food safety requirements. Ensure meals are ready at the specified times and test foods being cooked for proper, flavor, temperature, seasoning etc. Present food using proper plating techniques. Assist executive chef and other cooks with prep and special functions. Assist in training new team members. Requirements: Prior culinary experience/training a PLUS Minimum of 2 years' experience in a food service hospitality environment required. Ability to communicate with residents, co-workers and other departments with professionalism and respect. Time management and attention to detail a MUST. Serv-Safe Certification a plus, or willingness to get certification.
