Senior Business Intelligence Engineer

● Requirements Gathering: Works with business stakeholders to lead & independently gather all project requirements. Consistently pipelines new work based on changing data landscape, consistently enhances report functionality independent of stakeholder requests.● SQL Data Manipulation: Writes complex SQL code to support one-source-of-truth data tables, support rigid external reporting requirements, and respond to ad-hoc analytic questions. Consistently demonstrates mastery and requires no support from team members. Builds flexible, accurate, and efficient datasets. Can help the team solve the highest complexity problems and guides more junior team members in data modeling.● Data Visualization: Expert in data visualization. Anticipates customer needs. Consults on hard to solve visualization problems, advises on functionality, explores, and advances new solutions & capabilities.● Python & GCP Automation: Uses advanced skills in Python, GCP, Terraform, or other relevant technologies to automate manual work. Leverages new technologies to solve business problems, support & enhance mission critical processes. Acts as the team expert in advanced technologies.● Mentorship: Guides and mentors broader BI team in all aspects of work: stakeholder management, requirements gathering, and technical skills, including SQL & Python. Develops team best-practices and process to improve efficiency.● Process Improvement: Works directly with cross-functional teams & leverages data to solve business problems. Evangelizes data, visualization, and reporting best practices. Consults on how to maintain data integrity and speed up operational processes. Minimum Requirements: Bachelors degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Engineering, or closely related field, or foreign degree equivalent, plus 6 years of experience in information systems, data engineering, business intelligence, or computer science. The experience (which can be gained concurrently) must also include each of the following:● 6 years of experience with relevant BI visualization tools, such as, but not limited to, Tableau, Power BI, or Looker;● 6 years of experience with SQL;● 5 years of experience with data modeling; and● 1 year of experience with Python. 100% Telecommuting allowed.
