The Role As a Data Engineer team member, you will work in an Agile environment towards developing, operating, and designing components in the data layer. This will include data strategy, data lineage, data warehousing and storage, cloud architecture storage, optimization, Spark, Hive, Scala, Big Data, and a deep understanding of how data is stored and accessed in a modern environment. Requirements Proficient in at least one programming language. More is better, as is experienced with functional and object-oriented languages. For example Scala, Java, or Python.Proven and recurring success applying software engineering practices like requirements gathering, design, and testing on a team.Working knowledge of the Linux command line and shell scriptingProficient in SQLComfortable leading discussions with clients, acting as a guide to help them accomplish their tech goals. Desired Skills In addition to the requirements above, Data Engineers at the 1904labs have proven work experience in at least two of the following areas:Relational databases like PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL ServerNon-relational or NoSQL databases like MongoDB, ElasticSearch, Solr, RedisBig Data / Hadoop technologies like Spark, Hive, HBase / CassandraData Modeling for Data Warehouses, Data Lakes, or operational applicationsCloud-based data ecosystems in AWS, Azure, or GCP. For example, in AWS services like S3, Kinesis, EMR, Athena, or Redshift. In Azure, services like Blob storage, Event Hub, Data Factory, Synapse, or Cosmos DB. In GCP, services like Pub/sub, Dataproc, BigQuery, BigTable, or Datastore.Streaming technologies like Spark Streaming or NiFi, message queues like Kafka or Rabbit MQ Why Choose 1904labs?
