We are a true farm-to-table company with operations that touch every aspect of agriculture, including seed production, farming and ranching, plant sciences, fertilizer manufacturing, food processing, commercial product development, and distribution.SummaryThe Packaging Operator tends, maintains, and adjust machine that stock, fill, wrap, seal and label bags with finished product. This individual ensures that product and bagging requirements are met safely, efficiently and with minimal waste. The Packaging Operator inspects bagging line processes and materials and responds promptly to any machine malfunctions.Key Responsibilities Ability to safely operate machinery Familiarity with lock out tag out procedures a plus Must be able to read and understand packaging manuals, coding, and material labels. Technical ability and comfort using computers The Packaging Operator inspects bagging line processes and materials and responds promptly to any machine malfunctions Maintains the start up and continuous operation of packaging equipment while maintaining efficiencies and assists the department in meeting or exceeding daily packaging goals Obtains daily work schedules and completes work orders based on standard operating procedures Ensures packaging equipment functions according to specifications Prepares packaging machines prior to product run including cleaning and making adjustments Logs information from each run Maintains safe and clean working environment Ability to work day and night shift and weekends (6am-6pm / 6pm-6am)Typical EducationHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED)Relevant Experience3+ years related experience and/or trainingOther Information Able to maneuver in close quarters and climb stairs, ladders, scaffolds and catwalks on a regular basis Possess considerable manual dexterity with both hands Able to lift up to up to 40 pounds Able to work in extreme environments: hot, cold, wet, and slick floors Able to work with chemicals Able to stand on concrete floors for long periods of time Must have an acceptable safety record Must have an acceptable attendance record Must be able to work independently, with minimal supervision Able to work in stressful situations Able to distinguish colors Able to read, understand, and communicate in a manner to successfully perform the job duties Able to perform basic computer skills Able to understand and apply basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, and averages) including the proper use of a calculatorJob Requisition ID: 18097Travel Required: NoneLocation(s): FG Plant - Moses LakeCountry: United StatesRate of Pay: $23.74/hrAttractive total rewards package that includes: Medical, dental, vision coverage 401(k) savings plan 10 Paid Holidays Vacation Time Details available in Collective Bargaining Agreement Paid Family Building Leave Education Assistance Benefits details available at simplotbenefits.com--**The J.R.
