Summary The Department of General Medicine is seeking a qualified candidate to supervise the administrative and operational activities of Briarwood Medical Group. A successful candidate will ensure high-quality patient care and guide in keeping with UMMG goals and objectives, and the Michigan Medicine mission.The Allied Health Supervisor will oversee the supervision of daily operations, partner with the leadership team in strategic planning, and lead operational changes. Daily operations include all activities related to human resource management (hiring, promotion, salary changes, performance coaching, disciplinary actions, training, and development, ensuring consistent application of organizational policies, etc.), as well as the ability to demonstrate measurable impact on operational effectiveness, attainment of department/unit objectives, service to customers and support of unit-based clinical research. Excellent medical, dental and vision coverage effective on your very first day 2:1 Match on retirement savings Responsibilities* The Allied Health Supervisor is responsible for managing a clinic with staff of varied skill and knowledge levels performing somewhat complex to very complex tasks, establishing operational objectives and delegating assignments when appropriate.Specific responsibilities include: Supervises routine clinic operations (e.g., scheduling, billing, referral management, check-in, front end collections, call centers, gathering patient information) in collaboration with the ACU leadership team. Leads the development and delivery of all patient-centered programs and services within the ACU. Provides leadership and direction to ensure supervisory and clinical, functional effectiveness of the ACU. Promotes the professional development of all staff. Promotes productivity, optimizes revenue and identifies cost reduction opportunities for improved net margin. Collects and analyzes patient satisfaction data, communicates results with medical director and clinic staff, and addresses areas of concern. Addresses and follows-through with patient complaints implementing process improvements as appropriate. Recommend, develop, and implement policies and procedures related to the business office and administrative functions of the assigned sites. Conduct site staff meetings and participates in provider, practice improvement and other meetings as needed. Required Qualifications* A Bachelor's degree in Management, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or an equivalent combination of related education and experience. Demonstrated effective communication, problem solving skills, and customer service approach are required. Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to positively represent the department to internal and external customers. Effectively prioritize workload to meet deadlines in a timely manner. Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills Desired Qualifications* Knowledge of Michigan Medicine computer systems. Knowledge of Lean management principles. Excellent skills in customer service recovery and service excellence. Knowledge of scheduling grids and EMR. Background Screening Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
