Job Title: Diesel Truck Mechanic with VA State Inspection License Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Diesel Truck Mechanic with a valid Virginia State Inspection License to join our team at The Truck Shop. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel engine repair, maintenance, and diagnostics, along with expertise in performing state inspections for commercial vehicles. This position requires attention to detail, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to ensuring the safety and reliability of our fleet of diesel trucks. Responsibilities: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, including but not limited to engine overhauls, brake repairs, transmission work, and electrical system diagnostics. Conduct thorough inspections of diesel trucks to identify and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues. Utilize diagnostic equipment and tools to troubleshoot and repair diesel engine components and systems. Perform Virginia state inspections on commercial vehicles in compliance with state regulations. Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed, including inspection reports and service records. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding the status of repairs, parts needed, and estimated completion times. Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a diesel mechanic training program or equivalent work experience. Valid Virginia State Inspection License for commercial vehicles. Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a diesel truck mechanic. Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems, components, and repair techniques. Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment. Ability to interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and precision in workmanship. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development.
