The successful candidate will work collaboratively with partners, counsels, associates, and patent agents to assist clients in protecting their key inventions at the forefront of technology. The IPT Patent Agent will play a vital role in the firm's IPT practice, meeting with clients to discuss invention disclosures, formulating patent strategies, and handling ongoing prosecution matters. The position involves evaluating technology, preparing and prosecuting US and foreign patent applications, assisting with opinion writing, providing client counseling, offering litigation support, and delivering technical expertise for the practice. Job Details:Work collaboratively with partners, counsels, associates, and patent agents.Meet with clients to discuss invention disclosures, patent strategy, and ongoing prosecution matters.Evaluate technology and provide technical support for the practicePrepare and prosecute US and foreign patent applicationsAssist with opinion writing and provide client counselingOffer litigation support as needed Requirements:Possess a strong educational background in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Informatics, or a closely related fieldMust be registered to practice before the US Patent and Trademark Office5+ years of experience independently preparing and prosecuting patent applications in the computing and/or electrical artsPrevious law firm or in-house experience is requiredBachelor’s degree (and preferably an advanced degree) in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Informatics, or a closely related field One of the biggest and most well-known law firms in the world, attorneys here are connected with a dizzying array of markets, industries, and practice areas.
