About Baytown With a population of more than 77,000, Baytown, Texas, is located in the Gulf Coast region of the United States, just east of Houston, the nations fourth largest city. Those who live and work in Baytown will find an area rich in history, as well as opportunities for outdoor activities due to its proximity to scenic waterways, namely Galveston Bay, the San Jacinto River and Buffalo Bayou. Founded in 1919, ExxonMobils Baytown Complex is located on approximately 3,400 acres along the Houston Ship Channel, about 25 miles east of Houston. Employing a workforce of more than 8,500, it is comprised of four manufacturing sites, including one in nearby Mont Belvieu, and a global technology center. These include the Baytown Refinery, one of the largest refineries in the United States, and the Baytown Olefins Plant, one of the largest ethylene plants in the world. What role you will play in our team We are seeking Senior Chemical Process Engineers to join us in supporting olefins technology at our Baytown Olefins Plant. Our Senior Chemical Process Engineers (Complex Engineers) play a pivotal role in the successful operation of our plants and are responsible for initiating and leading improvements to unit performance in safety, production, and reliability in a dynamic team environment. You will think strategically, execute thoughtfully, and collaborate across many teams, levels, and situations. In this role, you will serve as a senior process technical resource, providing technical and operational expertise to address complex processes across business teams. Complex engineers serve primarily to set longer term visons for unit performance and troubleshooting in addition to supporting day:to:day activities. What you will do stylemargin:left:80.0px::Serve as the technical leader on the business team by: stylemargin:left:40.0px::Mentoring less experienced engineers on design practices, unit health monitoring, and troubleshooting:Provide off:hours support of abnormal and non:routine operations, including unit Turnarounds:Aiding in the development of long term vision and strategy for product line improvements:Organizing and designing plant testing and product trials:Serve as a senior resource either serving as or working with supervisors on the team to set clear objectives, and ensure priorities are aligned for the technical team:Influence others and drive toward solutions without direct authority:Work in a team environment with other engineering disciplines, operations, and mechanical personnel and interface with corporate technology supportstylemargin:left:40.0px::
