Join our team today Job Description Summary The selected candidate will be required to work in a team environment with other co:workers and managers. : Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all company safety policies and procedures: Troubleshoot malfunctions and repairs: Replace defective engines and sub:assemblies, such as transmissions, electric motors, drums, seals, hydraulic pumps, valves, pistons, rods, gears, etc.: Test overhauled equipment to ensure operating efficiency (must be able to operate all equipment).: Weld broken parts and structural members.: Perform record keeping of time and parts used on the appropriate forms.: Plan work procedures and / or possible solutions such as part redesign, substitution of material or parts and rearrangement of parts or sub:assemblies.: Perform general cleaning of work areas and maintenance areas.: Assist other maintenance department staff in performing the duties necessary to assure the efficiency of operations of equipment/vehicles.: Lift, carry and hold materials, tools and supplies.: Perform other duties as assigned.Requirements : Experience in trucks and/or heavy equipment maintenance and repair, including diesels, hydraulic systems, air conditioning, brake adjustments and electrical systems: Strong safety culture a must; Able to work in a positive team environment: Demonstrate good performance, safety and attendance: Demonstrate the ability to work independently, without direct supervision: Demonstrate a willingness to work overtime and weekends/holidays/nights: Be willing to work outdoors in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold: Demonstrates ability to work and communicate well with Supervisors, Truck Drivers, Heavy Equipment Operators and other employees: Demonstrate the ability to conform to and maintain MSHA, OSHA, DOT and all other company policies or governmental state rules and regulations: Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as required by OSHA/MSHA: Must have good depth perception and coordination to operate controls: Must have a valid driver's license.: Able to travel to other locations if needed: Regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is required: Pre:employment physical exam, pre:employment controlled substance testing and criminal background check required before being employed by Callanan Industries, Inc. Preferences : Experience with Quarry operations a plus: Ability to weldEducation/Experience : Extensive experience in truck and/or heavy equipment maintenance and repair, including diesels, hydraulic systems and electrical systems: High school graduate or equivalent preferred: Experience with Quarry operations a plus: Welding is preferred but not necessary.
