Your Specific Responsibilities: This position is responsible for providing dental treatment services to HIV infected clients and HIV affected family members in accordance with all Federal and State laws and within the guidelines established by the State Health Office, Dental Administrative offices, and the United States Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). The incumbent is also responsible for chair side supervision of the dental hygienist and assistants. This position will also provide pediatric services. Works under the direction of the Dental Director. Provides dental services to include: :Dental and medical evaluations:Diagnosis and treatment planning : includes all necessary procedures required to make proper diagnosis:Restorative procedures (per program limitations):Oral Surgery procedures:Preventive services, dental and medical:Prosthetic services, when indicated (per program limitations):All other dental services permitted by Medicaid:Other medical and dental referrals as authorized by dental program policy Provides for the proper daily operation of the dental clinic. This includes: :Maintaining adequate supplies and equipment, including written schedules for maintenance:Maintaining and periodically checking emergency equipment and supplies:Operating a professional clinic at all times:Documenting all patient services and activities in a legible manner or in HMS:Performs all other activities necessary for the smooth and professional operation of a dental clinic Performs other related work as required. Including dental surveys, screenings, and presentations. Provides clinical services in other dental clinics in the county as assigned to assure adequate patient coverage. Maintains client confidentiality and security in accordance DOHP50:10:10 Information Security and Privacy Policy Confidential Information. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: :Knowledge of the documentation, safety and practice standards governing the practice of dentistry in DOH.:Skill in performing dental procedures up to the standard of care.:Ability to relate to diverse clients.:Ability to communicate effectively and be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.:Skill in computer software application. (Note: The knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) identified in this class specification represent those needed to perform the duties of this class. Additional knowledge, skills and abilities may be applicable for individual positions in the employing agency.) Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :Dentist Licensure in accordance with Chapter 466, Florida Statutes including DEA Certification.:Incumbent may be required to work before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of anemergency. Emergency duty required of the incumbent includes working in special needs or Red Cross shelters,or performing other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to or threats involving any disasteror threat of disaster, man:made or natural.
