Our son plays for the Fort Lauderdale RUSH soccer academy. He excels at precision passing and shooting, slide tackles, kicking ball out of bounds. We need your help in teaching him to be more patient (not diving in too early allowing him to get burned by faster opponents), keep the opposing player with the ball always to the outside of the closest goal post (even if it means crossing in front of the player to continue to drive the action to the outside goal post), and then be more physical at the right moment when he needs to dive in with his inside arm, shoulder, back, and rear end to separate the ball from the opposing player.
