Reporting to the Energy Engineering Lead, the Civil Technician/Construction Technician will be reliable and hardworking. You will be responsible for performing various physical tasks to assist with the smooth operations of assigned projects. This is a hands-on role that requires physical strength and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. We work on various types of job sites. What You’ll Do: The Civil Technician will be part of the TULLOCH Engineering team. You will: Assist Project Managers in all aspects of project delivery Prepare preliminary and detailed designs and drawings for various Civil Engineering projects Ensure plans are in compliance with applicable standards and drafting requirements Estimation of tender quantities Supervise geotechnical drilling and test pitting assignments Perform soil classification, logging, and sampling Inspect and monitor construction Prepare reports Act as a liaison for communication with clients Please note that this job description is not meant to be an all-inclusive statement of every duty and responsibility that will ever be required of an employee in the job. Who You Are: You have 2-5 years of experience in the Civil Engineering industry You have mechanical aptitude, with a preference for candidates possessing a background in construction or a related field Ability to lift heavy items (20 – 50 lbs) and engage in physically demanding work Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions meticulously You enjoy repetitive, routine work and long periods of travel (2-4 weeks at a time) You are comfortable driving a truck towing a heavy trailer You exercise independent judgement within defined parameters and in alignment with business objectives You are trusted and provided freedom to work independently but also contribute to the overall team success You are legally eligible to work in the US and/or hold US work authorization What You Should Bring: The ideal candidate will have a post-secondary degree or diploma in Construction or Civil Engineering Technician/Technologist or an equivalent program, or an acceptable combination of education and relevant experience. Additionally, you should have: High motivation with results-oriented focus Superior organizational and multi-tasking skills Strong interpersonal and critical thinking skills Unwavering commitment to health & safety in the workplace Excellent communication skills (oral and written) The ability to work overtime as required Valid driver’s license What We Offer You: TULLOCH has built a passionate workforce with a strong and vibrant culture which has been the key to our success.
