Job Title: Kids Pastor Department: Realife Kids Employment Status: Full-Time Direct Report: Dream Team Pastor Overview: Realife Church is a thriving church of over 2000 people located on the outskirts of the Indianapolis metro area with a mission of “Creating a Place People Love, So They can Experience a Loving God.” Founded in 2007, Realife is led by founding pastor, Adam Detamore and affiliated both with the Assemblies of God and the ARC Network. Moving into a newly remodeled former fitness center in March of 2022, the church saw rapid growth and was featured in Outlook magazine’s Fastest Growing Churches in 2023. This growth has continued and Realife Church is now looking to expand both facilities and staff to add additional capacity to their new location as well as planting a campus in each of the three additional school districts in the county. Located in the fastest-growing county in Indiana with the vision and resources to continue to reach more people, Realife Church is primed and positioned for growth into the future. As a response to our current growth and future vision, Realife is looking for a Kids Pastor who is built to run at the pace of a fast- growing church with many new believers and who has experience leading people and building teams. This experienced leader will provide leadership, vision, and direction that creates a life-giving atmosphere of vibrant and enticing discipleship and evangelism for the children, parents, and the children’s ministry team of Realife Church. They must also be proficient at leading and developing people, as relational leadership skills are crucial in to leading other ministry staff and Dream Team members. Purpose of the Job: Provide leadership, oversight, and coordination within the Realife Kids department, including clarifying and casting vision to each leader. This position is not one with the responsibility to DO kids ministry, but a high-level leadership position with the responsibility to develop and equip other to do the ministry. Experience and Knowledge Required: -Ability to lead teams effectively -Passion for discipling and investing in the next generation -Organizational, practical and goal-oriented leadership -Knowledge of systems and structures of Realife Church -Pastoral, discerning and confident leadership -Professional representation of Realife Church and the Lord Jesus in all things Essential Functions and Responsibilities: -Oversee and organize children’s ministry across Realife Church. -Oversee and develop the weekend & mid-week experience for all children. -Oversee special event planning to include Child Dedication, Realife Kids Conference, Summer Camp, Christmas presentation, quarterly activities & volunteer appreciation events. -Function as the liaison for the department to the leadership team. -Maintain strong communication and relationship with Dream Team Pastor and Lead -Pastor to ensure the vision is implemented in all aspects of family ministry. -Oversee childcare for various church events. -Develop and oversee implementation of policies throughout all kids areas and enforce compliance. -Evaluate and develop the Realife Kids staff and provide support for efforts relating to children at Realife. -Regularly communicate with other departments on behalf of the Realife Kids team for all efforts and activities within Realife Kids. Other Duties and Responsibilities: Leadership Development -Recruit, develop and train high-quality leaders and teams for all Realife Kids ministry. -Serve as a management layer for Kid’s Ministry Coordinators-Work closely with ministry leaders to analyze and adjust effectiveness of programming -Develop integrated training processes for nursery, preschool, kids, and special needs ministry leaders and Dream Team members. -Ensure that the systems and structures in place are used to help staff and volunteers take their next step. -Create systems for volunteer communication, appreciation, and retention. -Lead department meetings and empower volunteers to fulfill their unique roles. Pastoral -Respond and minister to pastoral care needs of children and families and Dream Team members on the Realife Kids team, including hospital visits. -Develop healthy community among parents and equip parents for discipleship through weekend and small group experience. -Fulfill pastoral duties including counseling, baptism, communion, hospital visitation, and general pastoral care. Curriculum & Material -Develop or acquire curriculum for children that reflects the teaching of Realife Church. -Develop or acquire new material for the Family Devotionals. -Research & implement upcoming curriculum during seasons we use out-of-house material. -Assure supplies and materials are ready for teachers for weekend services. Communication -Provide consistent communication with key leaders and parents including monthly parent e-mails, daily social media updates, guest and birthday postcards, etc. -Oversee and develop all internal and external communication that represents the Realife Kids department. Financial Responsibilities -Participate in budget preparation to ensure adequate funds for operation of Realife Kids Prepare purchase requests and invoices for Realife Kids. Safety & Security -Create and maintain safety procedures, protocols and standards.-Weekly observe adult-to-child ratios to ensure child safety, abide by state laws, and monitor growth for additional rooms that may be needed. Realife Kids Facilities -Formulate children’s ministry facility standards. -Ensure that the kids facility areas are clean and set in an excellent manner for all services Realife Church Staff possess and exhibit the following core values in their daily lives: -Love for God -Love for People -Work Ethic that is excellent, protective and frugal with time and money -Attitude of a servant, enjoyable to be with and devoted to the call of God and the Church Physical Demands: -Ability to drive personal or Realife vehicles as needed -Ability to climb several flights of stairs daily About You: -You are always asked to plan the games at large gatherings.-You never do anything alone, but have someone on your hip learning leadership lessons from you.-When a fifth grader threatens to hit you with a whipped cream pie, you respond, “Go ahead, make my day.” (Cue western movie theme)-The thought of 400+ kids in church on a weekend has you loading the U-haul to move to Indiana.
