The candidate will be responsible for providing legal representation and advocacy for clients in special education matters. Duties:Provide legal representation and advocacy for clients in special education matters.Conduct legal research on special education laws and regulations.Draft and review legal documents, including due process complaints, settlement agreements, and educational plans.Represent clients at Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, mediation sessions, and administrative hearings.Advise clients on their rights and options under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and other relevant laws.Collaborate with school districts, parents, and other stakeholders to resolve disputes and achieve positive outcomes for clients. Requirements:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Admission to the California State Bar.Preferably 3+ years of experience in special education law.Strong knowledge of special education laws and regulations, including IDEA and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.Experience representing clients in due process hearings and other administrative proceedings.Excellent communication, negotiation, and advocacy skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.Commitment to advocating for the rights of children with disabilities and their families. Education:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Certifications:Admission to the California State Bar. Skills:Strong knowledge of special education laws and regulations.Excellent legal research and writing skills.Effective advocacy skills, both in and out of the courtroom.Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide practical advice to clients.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build positive relationships with clients and stakeholders.
