The ideal candidate will be responsible for representing clients in all phases of litigation, conducting legal research, drafting legal documents, and negotiating settlements. Job Overview:The Litigation Attorney will represent clients in matters involving professional liability or labor and employment. This role requires attending court appearances, hearings, and depositions, as well as conducting complex legal research and drafting various legal documents. Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential. Duties:Represent clients in all phases of litigation from initiation to expert discoveryAttend court appearances, hearings, depositions, and case management conferencesConduct complex legal research and discovery investigationsDraft discovery requests and responses, motions, case evaluation summaries, court orders, settlement agreements, affidavits, pleadings, and legal memorandaReview discovery responses and prepare summaries and litigation update reportsNegotiate with opposing counsel to settle claimsCommunicate closely with clients to provide legal analysis, status reports, and advice Requirements:NY litigation experienceAdmission to the NY BarExperience drafting discovery, taking lead on depositions, and arguing motionsExcellent writing and organizational skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)Proficiency in Lexis softwareStrong preference for background in General Liability or Labor and Employment LawKnowledge of federal and state rules of civil procedures Education:Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school Certifications:Admission to the New York State Bar Skills:Strong litigation skillsExcellent communication and negotiation skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced and demanding environmentAttention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently Benefits Offered:401(k) with matchingDental insuranceFlexible scheduleHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time off
