Hoffer Plastics is hiring for " Automation Technician " Programs, repairs and maintains all automated machinery and auxiliary equipment Play a key role in producing plastic components that make everyday life possible, from transportation to food packaging to healthcare. ** Hoffer provides full training, extensive benefits, pay premiums for night shifts, and unlimited career potential. Responsibilities: Responsible for the repair and maintenance of: All automated devices used for the purpose of runner removal, part handling, separation or packing. All machinery located at the press or in the Assembly department used in secondary operations All auxiliary equipment Diagnose trouble, disassemble, and determine extent of repairs necessary. Make up repair parts, replace defective components. Perform necessary welding and sheet metal operations involved in repairing equipment. Operate lathe, vertical mill, drill press and grinders as required. Occasionally direct an assigned helper. Maintain work area in neat and orderly manner Observe safety rules and wearing of prescribed protective clothing or items. Qualifications: Minimum 2 year technical degree in related field 5 years of experience in related discipline required. Mechanical comprehension as well as strong understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical applications and blueprints Programming knowledge of PLC systems such as Allen Bradley, Siemens, etc. Robotic experience as well as vision detection systems Use of Computer Aided Design Software and strong general computer skills Join an established, growing third generation U.S. company that goes "All In" for people, plastics and purpose.
