Working with cross-functional teams, this person will participate to gather and document reporting requirements to meet business needs. Using skills and experience as a BI Developer, this person will then use those requirements to design, develop, test and implement ETL, reports and dashboards that utilize the underlying data source(s)/data warehouse(s)/data mart(s). The person in this role may assist with the preparation of detailed specifications and will be responsible for the technical design, development, documentation, testing, implementation and support of various Data Models.Participate in business meetings to gather reporting and dashboard requirementsTranslate business requirements into specifications that will be used to implement the required reports and dashboards, created from potentially multiple data sourcesTransition developed reports and dashboards to the Operations & Support teamProvide support as required to ensure the availability and performance of developed reports and dashboards for both external and internal usersEnsure proper configuration management and change controls are implementedWork closely with offshore team(s) and participate in scrum callsProvide technical assistance and cross training to other team membersProvide training, user documentation and assistance to end users as requiredDesign and implement technology best practices, guidelines and repeatable processesUnderstanding Data Sources and Data Modeling concepts to develop and enhance the existing Data WarehouseExperience with a variety of sources (XML, Oracle, flat file, excel spreadsheets, transactional (OLTP) sources, etc.)Knowledge of logical and physical database modeling concepts and techniquesUnderstand normalized and star-schema physical models and logical modeling conceptsFollow and implement Business Intelligence best practices and architectural standardsCollaborate with Oracle ERP Analyst to identify and resolve data quality issuesParticipate and handle full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)Participate with ERP development team to convert legacy reports (Oracle Discoverer reports)Provide guidance on best practices for setting up and deploying reporting solutionCoach/mentor other team members as appropriate to facilitate their professional developmentPlease note that this job description is not designed to contain a comprehensive list of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
