The candidate will primarily be responsible for:Job Overview: The ERISA/Employee Benefits Associate Attorney will provide comprehensive legal counsel to individuals and plan sponsors on ERISA and tax implications concerning various employment-based agreements, defined benefit and contribution plans, deferred compensation arrangements, severance benefits, and other compensation arrangements. The role involves implementing and terminating plans and representing clients before the IRS and DOL.Duties:Counsel individuals and plan sponsors on ERISA and tax implications of employment-based agreementsAdvise on defined benefit and contribution plans, deferred compensation arrangements, severance benefits, and other compensation arrangementsImplement and terminate plans as per legal requirementsRepresent clients before the IRS and DOL in ERISA-related mattersRequirements:3-5 years of high-quality experience in ERISA/employee benefits mattersJuris Doctorate DegreeBar admission in the state of New JerseyExperience in arrangements maintained by higher education facilities and tax-exempt organizationsExperience dealing directly with clientsEducation Certifications:Juris Doctorate DegreeLLM in Taxation (a plus)Skills:Excellent contract drafting skillsExcellent writing and communication skills This mid-sized, full-service firm has some really incredible opportunities for a lawyer who is in or is interested in relocating to New Jersey.
