CMM Programmer/Quality Inspector

POSITION OBJECTIVE AND PURPOSE Program and operate Coordinate Measurement Machine and conduct Quality Inspections. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Read and interpret engineering drawings (ASME Y14.5) and 3D CAD models Program CMM using PC-DMIS Continuous Process Improvement/Critical Thinking Cooperate with various team members and departments Assist in creation and maintenance of quality systems Collection, reporting, and recording of quality data using typical MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) Feedback to various departments and machine operators help assure quality The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned this classification. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES Performs other work-related duties as required EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS AA Degree or Technical College Certificate preferred (equivalent experience considered) EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED Minimum 5 years of recent related Quality Inspection in a machining/manufacturing environment Minimum 3 years of PC-DMIS programming and hands on operation of CMM equipment Working knowledge of Quality Systems Fluent GD&T and blue print reading. (Reference ANSI Y14.5) Ability to operate general office equipment Ability to read, write, and communicate in English (minimum 8th Grade level) The qualities listed above are guidelines and other combinations of education and experience could provide the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to perform this job.
