Description Cornerstone Community Church is a diverse, inner city church in Philadelphia, PA. We are a Bible-based and evangelistic church with a very loving church family. We are seeking an assistant pastor who would enjoy being a part of a frontline, never-boring ministry that God is using in extraordinary ways! Requirements Minimum 2 years pastoral experience. Minimum bachelor’s degree. Prefer advanced ministry degree. Love and passion for people in the inner city. Responsibilities Example (Described in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1) Grow in relationship with God. Develop Christ-like character. Be a godly and loving father, husband, and neighbor. Teacher (1 Tim. 3:2 “able to teach” Tit. 1:9 “encourage others by sound doctrine”) Study, write and preach sermons (twice a month.) Teach weekly Bible study. Assist with Sunday church service (prayer, announcements, greet, etc.) Shepherd (1 Peter 5: 1-4 “Be shepherds of God’s flock…”) Foster loving church community (assist with social activities, etc.) Individual care (counsel, visits, follow-up, etc.) Administrator (1 Tim. 5:17 “The elders who direct the affairs of the church…” Attend weekly staff meeting. Assist lead pastor with administrative responsibilities. Officiate baptisms, communion, child dedications, funerals, weddings. Evangelist (Book of Acts – elders very involved in evangelism.) Help lead monthly Family Night outreach. Assist with 2 annual block party outreaches. Build bridges with our recovery ministry or food cupboard clients. Compensation We will provide a competitive salary and benefits based on experience and qualifications.
