Redeemer Community Church in Katy, TX is looking to hire a new Kids Ministry Director .Lead by Pastor Mitch Maher and located in the beautiful Cinco Ranch neighborhood of Katy, Redeemer is a Gospel-loving, Bible-teaching church that aims to equip, encourage, and challenge people to joyfully follow Jesus and help others do the same . Our church family is about 450 strong (approximately 25 preschool age children and 75 elementary age children call Redeemer home), and we have wonderful ministries to God's people of all ages, as well as a love for supporting ministries in our city and around the world.Come join our team! The role of this full-time position is that of Kids Ministry Director, providing leadership to both the preschool and elementary ministries of Redeemer Community Church. The director will work with Gods people at Redeemer to help kids joyfully follow Jesus and help others do the same , while partnering with parents to equip and encourage them as the primary spiritual influences in their kids lives. This full-time position will start at $20/hour + benefits, but is certainly negotiable dependent on pertinent education, experience, and expertise.Learn more about the position below. We're looking for a person who... Senses God's calling to lead a life-giving ministry to Redeemers preschool and elementary children Demonstrates character consistent with the ideals the New Testament lays out in texts like Galatians 5:22-23 and Colossians 3:12-14 (We're not looking for perfection, but direction!) Has proven competent in leading or serving in an effective ministry, preferably Kids Ministry Resonates with the vision and culture of Redeemer Community Church. (We want a person whos in harmony with our mission, values, strategy, and marks.) Shows potential for relational chemistry with our existing leadership (We obviously hope for a good team player who's easy to get along with!) Primary Responsibilities Build a Kids Ministry Team to help develop leaders, equip volunteers, and implement ministry plans. This team should include 3-5 members with whom you meet on a regular basis to develop and lead all aspects of Kids Ministry. Develop, organize, and execute excellent Kids Ministry on both Sunday mornings (9:15 a.m. Sunday School Hour and 10:30 a.m. Worship Hour) and Wednesday evenings (6:30 8:00 p.m.) Implement approved curriculum for Sunday mornings and Wednesday evening, appropriate to each age level. Copy and distribute lessons for classes and prepare needed supplies. Recruit, train, and consistently develop a volunteer base for all Kids Ministry (this should include volunteers from among our Jr. and Sr. High students where appropriate). We want our volunteers to feel equipped, confident, valued, and heard. Provide Ministry Safe training to all volunteers and paid staff and ensure compliance. Oversee the paid nursery staff (hire and supervise) that helps on Sunday mornings, Tuesday mornings for Women's Bible Study, Wednesday evenings, and more. Develop, organize, and executes exciting Summer Ministry for kids. Mega Sports Camp (a VBS-like program, or something similar) Overnight Camp for older kids (We usually take 3 rd 5 th Graders to Highland Lakes in Spicewood, TX.) Develop, organize, and execute a strategy to celebrate the kids of Redeemer in front of the larger church body five (5) times per year. Examples might include an annual Talent Show, Christmas Play, Singing on stage, etc. Work with our Family Director to equip parents of Preschool and Elementary Kids for raising their children in the Lord. Plan and execute special events like holiday activities for kids, date nights, parent summits/seminars, etc., as well as smaller gatherings like play-dates and get-togethers. Communicate with parents about what is happening in Kids Ministry and what our kids are learning. Provide service opportunities for Redeemer kids. Follow up with visiting families and absent families when appropriate. Maintain a balanced budget for Kids Ministry and purchasing supplies as needed. Maintain the Kids Ministry section on redeemercommunity.org and redeemercommunity.life, as well as develop Kids Ministry Social Media pages. Attend weekly staff meetings. This description should account for the majority of your time. There will be other times dedicated to serving the church in a variety of ways throughout the year as needed. For Future Opportunity Develop Music Ministry for both our Preschool and Elementary Kids. Develop MOPS International ministry at Redeemer. We sometimes dream of a Mother's Day Out Program or a Preschool at Redeemer. We believe this would start with the launch of MOPS.
