About the Role Workday is looking for a highly motivated Senior Technical Accounting Manager to join a collaborative and growing team. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, a great communicator, detailed-oriented, team player that enjoys collaborating with people with a diverse set of talents in a dynamic fast-paced environment. This position will report to the Assistant Controller. Through involvement with complex and unusual transactions, accounting for venture investments, and mergers & acquisitions activity, this position will play a critical role in the accounting processes and have high visibility to finance leadership within the organization. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Conduct and document technical accounting research related to new business initiatives and/or complex transactionsAnalyze new accounting pronouncements to determine impact and assist with implementationCollaborate cross-functionally to ensure that accounting and budget impacts of significant and unusual transactions are communicated timely and accounted for properlyPromote teamwork between finance groups and departmentsPerform and document quarterly and annual controlsPerform and document impairment assessments, including non-marketable investments and the annual goodwill impairment testingSupport the non-marketable investment accounting process, including review of investments for adjustments and impairments, as well as internal and external reportingAssist with research and disclosure efforts for ESG related programsAssist in balance sheet and income statement flux analysis in accordance with close timelinesSupport SOX compliance efforts and assist in improvement of control proceduresAssist with audits, including preparing work papers for the auditors and analyzing dataCollaborate with internal teams and external auditors to ensure successful audit results and complianceSupport month-end close processesPerform various ad hoc projects as requested About You Basic Qualifications: 8+ years of relevant technical accounting experience (must include minimum of 6 years within public accounting)Bachelor's DegreeCPA Other Qualifications: Software and/or SaaS industry experience preferredExperience using large ERP system preferredProficiency with MS ExcelProven experience in a rapidly growing and dynamic environment to meet tight timelines while ensuring high-quality deliverablesExperience with tight deadlines and timeliness for work performedHigh attention to details and accuracy, excellent organizational and multi-tasking skillsExcellent oral and written communication skillsStrong analytical skills and problem solving abilitiesCollaborative and experience partnering with cross-functional teams Workday Pay Transparency Statement The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants.
