Practice Area: Criminal Law - Defense, Job Type: Attorney, Firm Type: Law Firm, Experience: 1 Years, A law firm seeks an entry-level criminal defense attorney for its Los Angeles, CA, office.Job Overview:The Entry-Level Criminal Defense Attorney will provide legal counsel to clients, represent them in court proceedings, and manage their cases from pretrial to trial. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for Criminal Defense law and possess strong analytical and interpersonal skills.Duties:Advise clients on their rights and draw up legal documents about their cases.Attend pretrial hearings on behalf of clients and provide post-hearing advisement on case strategies.Managed court appearances and trials, draft motions, interview witnesses, and conduct legal research.Analyze probable case outcomes based on legal precedents.Effectively manage a workload of cases.Provide legal analysis to clients to determine potential case benefits.Gather additional evidence to support clients' cases or counter prosecution charges.Prepare clients for depositions and gather information from witnesses and experts supporting client positions.Requirements:Demonstrated interest in Criminal Defense law through Law School clinics, volunteer work, or internships.Juris Doctorate degree.Active Bar admission (law graduates awaiting admission will be considered).Strong teamwork skills with a willingness to collaborate with fellow associates.Bilingual proficiency in English/Spanish preferred.Exceptional interpersonal skills.Record of advancing legal cases and ability to manage a caseload.Experience with Case Management Software preferred.Benefits:Medical, dental, and vision insurance.Competitive compensation package.Paid parking.Paid time off.And more.
