Job Description: Fleet Mechanic POSITION SUMMARY The Fleet Mechanic provides preventive maintenance and repairs on fleet vehicles as assigned by Fleet Manager. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Perform front line mechanic inspections, preventive maintenance and electrical repairs on both diesel and gasoline vehicles per AMR Fleet Policy and Procedures Operate Company vehicles in accordance with Company policy and safe driving practices Complete all required vehicle repair and maintenance paperwork and documentation neatly, correctly, and in a timely manner using AMR repair work orders and AMR Fleet Maintenance Software (RTA) Respond professionally to changing fleet and operations departmental priorities Respond promptly to road calls, accurately diagnose, and perform quality repairs Thoroughly, promptly, neatly, and accurately document vehicle repairs and maintenance including a complete accounting of all labor hours, parts, and materials used Provide excellent customer service and maintain a respectful working relationship with all fleet and operations personnel; display professional conduct with outside suppliers and contacts Take responsibility for and demonstrate safe work practices Adhere to Company and OSHA safety guidelines NONESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Perform other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED SKILLS Must have a high school diploma or equivalent education Must have four years of verifiable experience as a Class C - Associate Mechanic, and automotive knowledge and skills necessary to perform maintenance and repairs on Company vehicles Preferred - two ASE Certifications in automotive or truck series: brakes, steering/suspension Must have a current and valid Oregon or Washington driver's license Must have a full set of personal tools needed to complete basic automotive repairs Must be able to use: Telecommunication equipment and computers Personal hand tools Vehicle shop equipment Vehicle hoist/floor jacks Diagnostic scan tools Brake lathe Tire balancer and mounting machine A/C recovery/recycle machine Pneumatic air tools and miscellaneous hand tools Why Choose AMR ?
