Lead Mechanic- 23-24 SY

Job Summary Under the supervision of the Supervisor Transportation Mechanic or designee, employee will maintain all school vehicles, motorized equipment, and other assigned areas of the school sites. In addition, the employee will evaluate employees, prepare work schedules, supervise transportation personnel, and maintain the necessary inventory of materials, supplies, and equipment. Perform daily inspections of bus or transportation equipment, coordinate training and scheduling of drivers. Employee will assist in the hiring and discipline of supervised personnel. The employee completes work orders to promote the safety, function, and general appearance of the District equipment, and other duties as assigned. View Job Description Requirements / Qualifications --- Valid Class 2 California driver's license. --- Class A or B with passenger endorsement and school bus certificate. --- California Medical Examiners Certificate. --- Valid Class 2 California driver's license. --- Class A or B with passenger endorsement and school bus certificate. --- California Medical Examiners Certificate. Comments and Other Information Bending at the waist to work on vehicles; dexterity of hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment; seeing to perform repair duties; carrying, pushing or pulling; standing for extended periods of time; reaching overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally; lifting (maximum of 50 pounds).
