Course Number and Title : MGT2224 Computer Auditing Course Description: The main objective of this course is to provide a basic level of knowledge of auditing in a computer and information technology (IT) based environment. In particular, the course will cover: a broad knowledge of the risks and exposures introduced by computer-based information systems; the types of controls that may be used to reduce such risks to an acceptable level; a framework for and case-based practice of controls evaluation in a computer-based information system; the impact of computer controls on audit strategy; and the opportunities and risks associated with computer assisted audit tests throughout the audit. Number of positions : 1 Estimated course enrollment: 10-12 Estimated TA support: 25 hours Sessional dates of appointment: June 26, 2023 – August 4, 2023 Salary : $50.74 + vacation pay Qualifications (minimum): Knowledge in IT auditing Familiarity in information technology Qualifications (preferred): CPA certification CISA or similar technology audit certification IT and/or IT audit experience preferred Description of duties: Class/course administration Assisting group project in 2-3 classes (attending class those classes is needed) Grading assignments, exams Application instructions: Please submit your application form (select the unit 3 general application form ) and resume to For detailed information and forms for the application process, visit the IMI employment page.
