Learn More About Our Company Job Purpose As a result of our continuing growth, we require a seasoned FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN – FIBER SPLICER. Reporting to the Field Service Manager, the Field Service Technician is responsible for the installation and servicing of Alpha products, primarily associated with fiber optic and network equipment at customer locations. Ensuring customer satisfaction with our products and services will be critical to the revenue growth of the company. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Fiber splicing in outside plant enclosures, adding new cables, splicing single fiber, Ribbon fibers • Knowledgeable in CWDM and DWDM technologies • Splicing inside commercial buildings, run inhouse fiber to customer suites • Running Patch cords in Headend/CO’s, activating equipment, speed tests • Enclosure Changeouts/Fiber Cutovers, Pole Moves, Maintenance window work (2am-6am) • Using OTDR, Power Meters, VFL, and Light identifiers. • Splicing in live plant • Installation, set-up and repair of Alpha products in the CATV, telecommunications, power, and mobility industries, including associated fiber optic and network equipment in various construction projects and existing long haul networks. • Perform network splicing and certification as well as circuit testing. • Respond to corrective network problems, performing effective and efficient problem.
