Key Responsibilities: Forklift operation; including the loading and off-loading trucks in a seasonally busy environment (spring/summer/fall) Working with customers (truck drivers) to ensure all product ordered is safely loaded onto truck, may be required to answer general questions about product Ensure that all personal entering the yard is complaint with safety rules and standards (e. g. all truck drivers must be wearing P. P. E and use corner boards, etc. ) Act as the last line of defense in the quality control process by ensuring product being loaded meets quality standards May inspect transfers of product (coming into the yard) for damage caused during the transportation process and report to supervisor Responsible for preparing picks (special orders for customers) Receive and distribute deliveries within the site Work collaboratively with Customer Service department on orders Maintain housekeeping in yard and various buildings on property Participate in company inventory process and control (e. g. cycle counts, seasonal count, raw material count, etc. ) Abilities: Must be comfortable with walking, climbing, standing and lifting (physically strenuous); must be able to lift up 50 pounds without assistance Must be comfortable working in a variety of climates.
