The ideal candidate must have significant experience in one or more of the following specialties: Partnership taxation, mergers and acquisitions, or tax considerations relating to real estate investments. Knowledge of state and local tax laws is a plus, and experience with tax-exempt organizations is also preferred. Large law firm experience is preferred. The Senior Tax Associate Attorney or Counsel will be responsible for providing comprehensive tax advice and counsel to clients, with a focus on partnership taxation, mergers and acquisitions, and/or tax considerations relating to real estate investments. The role requires a strong academic background, and excellent research, writing, and communication skills. Duties:Provide comprehensive tax advice and counsel to clientsSpecialize in partnership taxation, mergers, and acquisitions, or tax considerations relating to real estate investmentsConduct legal research and analysis on tax mattersDraft legal documents, opinions, and memorandaCommunicate with clients, opposing counsel, and government agenciesAssist in the development of tax strategies and structuresStay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations Requirements:7+ years of experience working on tax matters with federal and state elementsSignificant experience in partnership taxation, mergers and acquisitions, or tax considerations relating to real estate investmentsKnowledge of state and local tax laws (preferred)Experience with tax-exempt organizations (preferred)Large law firm experience (preferred)Bar admission required Education and Certifications:Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law schoolBar admission required Skills:Strong academic backgroundExcellent research, writing, and communication skillsExpertise in tax lawAnalytical and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment A regional powerhouse firm with strong political history, this firm is regarded as the 15th Best Law Firm in the Mid-Atlantic.
