Job Description POSITION SUMMARY: * Collect and assemble records/data into the prescribed format. * Analyze data to ensure records meet regulatory and hospital standards. * Implement practitioner completion process. * Uphold levels of security and confidentiality to execute appropriate release of information. * Codes and classifies data sets according to ICD, DPT, and DSM guidelines using the 3M Coding Software package. * Maintains current knowledge of guidelines and reimbursement reporting requirements. EDUCATION: * Must possess a Bachelor's or Associate's degree in a related field of study or requisite relevant experience. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES: * RHIT, RHIA, or test eligible preferred. EXPERIENCE: * Three to five years of inpatient record experience in an acute care hospital setting. Acute inpatient psychiatric setting preferred. Two years of inpatient coding and classification experience in a behavioral health/medical setting. Must demonstrate working knowledge in ICD, CPT, and DSM.
