Job Description We are seeking a self-motivated, discovery-oriented research scientist with a proven track record in conducting mass spectrometry-based protein characterization studies. The Senior Scientist I is responsible for developing and implementing analytical methods for the characterization of proteins and peptides with an emphasis on LC-MS (intact mass and peptide mapping). Expertise in data collection and data analysis software for these assays is a requirement. Proteomics and pull-down assay experience is desirable. Additional experience with analytical and separation techniques such as capillary electrophoresis (CE-SDS, c IEF) is beneficial. He/She/They will be expected to independently collect and interpret detailed MS data, generate reports, and orally present findings within team-based settings. He/She/They will provide scientific leadership as a subject matter expert and provide feedback and guidance to a team of protein expression/purification, cell-based, and in vivo scientists. The Senior Scientist I will independently plan experimental work and execute protocols in support of group goals depending on departmental needs. He/She/They will maintain a productive and collaborative laboratory environment consistent with group and company expectations. The position requires the individual to work with and in areas requiring select agents and toxins access (i. e. Biosafety level 2 laboratories). Access to and use of select agents is regulated.
