Hillsborough County School District is seeking qualified applicants for the following position: Elementary School Media Specialist Location: Bryan Elementary School Position Summary: The Media Specialist oversees the library media program of a school site in support of the curriculum. Qualifications: Education: A bachelors degree. Masters in Library Information Science preferred. Appointees who do not have a Library Information Science Degree will be required to sign a course compliance agreement and complete 18 hours of specified university-level coursework within the first three years of hire. Six hours are required annually. Experience: One (1) year of successful experience in classroom teaching for candidates who do not possess a Master's in Library Information Science. Certificates/Licenses/Registrations: Florida Professional Educator Certification in Educational Media Specialist Language Skills: Reads and interprets general business and professional journals, technical procedures, or regulations. Writes reports, correspondence, and manuals. Effectively presents and responds to questions from managers and the public. Mathematical Skills: Works with math concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry. Applies concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Reasoning Ability: Solves practical problems and deals with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interprets a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. All job postings close at 3:00 p.m. on the posted closing date.
