Faith-based health care center is seeking to fill a full-time Billing Specialist I position to join our growing administrative team! The Billing Specialist I will be responsible for the follow-up on past-due claims and investigating all denials for correction. Qualifications: High School diploma; additional schooling a plus. 2+ years' experience in physician medical billing; dental billing experience a plus. 2+ years' experience with insurance verification. Knowledge of insurance billing guidelines; Medicare and Medicaid knowledge a plus. Working knowledge of medical terminology, ICD 10, CPT, CPT II, ADA and HCPCS. Good written and oral communication skills. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. MS Word, Excel and Outlook experience required. Job Responsibilities: Work unpaid accounts receivable daily to secure payment. Review denial to determine the validity of rejections and take appropriate action to resolve the issue. Call insurance companies and utilize insurance websites to obtain claims status and to secure outstanding payments. Enters claims online when necessary to ensure prompt payment. Follow protocol related to write-offs and adjustment policies for dental claims and self-pay patients. Identify denial trends and develop solutions to reduce denials and increase payments. Actively manage AR and internal task/project requests. Respond to all patient tasks to resolve AR as needed. Input missing data as required, correcting registration and other errors as indicated. Compensation : Salary range commensurate with education and experience.
