Our employees work to serve the residents with responsive customer service and strive to make the City of Woodstock the best community it can be. POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible to provide maintenance, diagnosis, and repair engines and equipment within the City's fleet; position also responsible for maintaining a safe and clean shop environment. The work is performed under the supervision of the Internal Services Supervisor. Regular Days/Hours for Position: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Please see attached Job Description for a complete listing of responsibilities. MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Vocational diploma in automotive, heavy equipment or diesel repair with a minimum of three (3) years mechanical repair experience; or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities. A valid Illinois Class A commercial driver's license with tanker and air brake endorsements with acceptable driving record for eligibility of City coverage. If this requirement is not met upon hire, the Class B CDL must be obtained within the designated time period. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Previous experience in Public Works, construction, or landscaping fleet repair. Automotive, Diesel, or Industrial dealership experience. SALARY: Starting salary rate: $29.33 per hour in accordance with Union contract.
