ABOUT THIS RESPITE PROGRAM CONSULTANT JOB As a Respite Program Consultant, your daily commitment revolves around supporting families with children experiencing serious emotional disturbances (SED) or dual diagnoses of SED and Autism through our Planned Respite Program. Under the guidance of the Respite Coordinator, you play a vital role in developing and administering planned respite activities, aligning them with state and Volunteer guidelines. Your comprehensive knowledge of social and economic challenges, principles of family behavior, community resources, and assessment techniques is fundamental to your responsibilities.Your daily tasks include applying a systems approach model when working with families, implementing behavior management strategies based on applied behavior analysis principles, and providing home and community-based training and respite services. You address the needs of both the child and the family, conducting ecological assessments, functional behavior analyses, and delivering ongoing feedback to parents based on daily objectives and data. Collaborating with families, you develop Individualized Family Respite Plans (IFRP) and create customized training programs based on their specific needs. You assist families in identifying and accessing respite alternatives within the community and provide direct respite as part of skills generalization training for the child. Your dedication and expertise serve as a beacon of support and guidance for these families, contributing significantly to the well-being and success of the children and families you assist.Would you excel in this position?
