General Description: Must be able to design, construct, erect, install, and repair structures, fixtures and other items ofwood, plywood, wallboard or other material using hand tools, pneumatic tools, and electricpower tools. The Industrial From Carpenter must have the knowledge and ability to build and setforms, read blueprints, perform advanced layout, build and set Symon forms, layout of anchorbolts, ability to use level instrument, ability to use transit, ability to tie rebar, able to readtape/ruler, set screeds, calculate material takeoffs from drawings, install batter boards,erect Symon forms, etc. Essential Functions: • Reads and understands blueprints, sketches, or building plans for information pertainingto type of material required and dimensions of structure or fixture to be fabricated.• Selects and transports appropriate materials and tools for job.• Measures boards, timbers, plywood or other materials using a square, tape, and/or ruler,and marks cutting lines on material.• Shapes materials to prescribed measurements using saws, chisels, and planes.• Assembles cut and shaped materials and fastens them together with nails, glue, ordowel pins.• Braces forms in place with timbers, tie-rods, and anchor bolts for use in buildingconcrete piers, footings, and walls.• Constructs forms and chutes for pouring concrete.• Builds false work to temporarily strengthen, protect or disguise building concrete piers,footings, and walls• Verifies trueness of structure with plumb bob and/or carpenters level.• Operates survey equipment to ensure accuracy.• Utilizes basic math skills while doing surveys and for measurements and assembly ofstructures.• Duties may include light administration and assistance to Project Superintendent Physical Demands: Field/Jobsite Environment – Climbing, standing, crawling, crouching, lifting, walking on unevensurfaces, and exposure to loud noises are to be expected on a jobsite environment. Thisposition is predominately outdoors at an Industrial Construction Site. Exposure to extreme hot orcold outside temperatures is possible.Position Type/Expected Work Hours:This is a full-time, hourly position. Days and hours of work vary from each jobsite. Occasionalevening/weekend work or travel may be required as job duties demand. Required Education and Experience: • 3+ years of field experience as a Class-A Industrial Form Carpenter• Must hold NCCER Industrial Carpentry Certification or willing to test• Experience reading blue prints / drawings• Perform Math Calculations• Adhere to all safety rules and regulations of GROUP-Industries and Clients we serve• Excellent problem-solving skills and understanding of mapping concepts Industry Related Requirements: • Must hold a valid TWIC Card• Must hold a valid OSHA Basic Plus• Must be able to pass all Safety Council related courses• Must undergo Pre-Employment Screening (physical, drug & alcohol screen, audiogram,fit test if applicable)• Must undergo audiogramThe individual who occupies this position must not pose a direct threat or significant risk ofsubstantial harm to the health or safety of the individual or others that cannot be eliminated orreduced by reasonable accommodation Industrial Carpenter will be responsible to have the following tools: • Hammer • 2’ Level• Framing Square • Utility Knife• Combination Square • 25’ Measuring Tape• Chalk Box • Tool Belt• Plumb Bob • Klien Pliers• Nail Bar • Torpedo Level• Crescent Wrench • Steel Toe Rubber Boots (for muddy work)
