Overview of the Senior Underwriter / Team Lead : The Senior Underwriter / Team Lead will be accountable for overseeing the day-to-day activities and performance management of a team of underwriters. This includes providing advice and expertise related A. M Fredericks property programs. Please note; this role is 100% onsite in Ajax, Ontario ( 201-339 Westney Road South) with the potential for remote work (1-2 days / week) once onboarded. Responsibilities of the Senior Underwriter / Team Lead : Be responsible for underwriting tasks to achieve targeted goals within the product portfolio Lead team performance through proactive coaching, employee development and performance appraisals Review risk submissions within assigned authority limits – primarily, but not exclusively, through file and call audits. Evaluate, accept, reject or modify risks within established underwriting guidelines Secure additional information and review endorsements where necessary and analyze all pertinent data to determine acceptability of risks according to established underwriting standards Assist in preparing submissions for higher underwriting review Coach brokers for success and improvement to enhance underwriting capabilities, provide market and underwriting insight Maintaining the profitability of your portfolio through superior risk analysis, determining.
