Indian Canyon Post acute care center is seeking a skilled and compassionate Wound Care Nurse to join our healthcare team. As a Wound Care Nurse, you will be responsible for providing specialized care and treatment to patients with wounds, ensuring their comfort and promoting healing. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a difference in the lives of patients and contribute to their overall well-being.Duties:- Assessing and evaluating patients' wounds to determine the appropriate course of treatment- Developing and implementing individualized wound care plans- Administering medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians- Monitoring patients' progress and documenting changes in their condition- Educating patients and their families on wound care techniques, prevention, and self-care- Collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to coordinate patient care- Ensuring compliance with infection control protocols and maintaining a clean and sterile environment- Providing emotional support and counseling to patients during the healing processRequirements:- Valid nursing license in California- Proven experience as a Wound Care Nurse or similar role- In-depth knowledge of wound care techniques, including dressing selection, debridement, and infection control- Strong understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and wound healing process- Excellent assessment skills to accurately diagnose wound conditions- Ability to operate specialized equipment such as negative pressure wound therapy devices- Effective communication skills to educate patients on wound care procedures and provide emotional support- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others healNote: This job description reflects the general duties of the position but is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities.
