1. PurposeTo ensure all equipment in the plant is working properly2. General Job FunctionRepairs, installs and performs preventive maintenance on all production equipment to ensure that such equipment is in good operable condition at all times. Uses electrical and mechanical expertise to trouble shoot, repair, install and perform preventive and interactive maintenance on all production equipment accessories to ensure that all equipment is in good operable condition at all times.3. ResponsibilitiesA. Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:These duties directly and substantially serve to achieve the purpose of the position.Principal responsibilities include but are not limited to:1. Installs, operates, maintains, checks and trouble-shoots all types of A/C and D/C electrical equipment. Installs, trouble-shoots and repairs solid state and electronic equipment.2. Installs, operates, maintains and checks all types of mechanical equipment as directed.3. Inspects machines, takes any required test and completes reports and paperwork as required for company record.4. Monitors and ensures compliance to the food safety program requirements.5. Read and make proper installations of semi-complex electrical circuits from wiring diagrams as instructed.6. Diagnoses and employs proper procedure of troubleshooting to determine when parts need replacement and when repairs are necessary.7. Dismantles, repairs and re-assembles gear boxes, fans, conveyors, blowers, compressors, pumps, valves, furnaces, drives and all applied mechanical equipment when directed or when directly related to electrical trouble shooting.8. Dismantles repairs, and re-assembles electrical motors, relays, timers and all applied electrical equipment.9. Installs and repairs electrical conduit, cables, piping, tubing including all necessary connections, controls and grounding as directed.10. Helps maintain spare parts inventory for plant as directed by checking out parts from parts mezzanine, using parts ordering procedure, and re-stocking inventory.11. Trains less experienced employees as required.12. Performs preventive maintenance, inspections, adjustments and repairs as indicated on the formal computerized maintenance program. Completes work orders and assigned work as directed by supervisor or lead.13. Cleans and preserves all repaired equipment as directed.14. Completes tasks indicated on work orders, inspections and A.I.B. checklists as directed by supervision.15. Follows Company, GMP and Safety policies to ensure compliance with the HACCP program and AIB gold standard and other programs as directed.16. Follows all food safety principles and legal requirements17. Maintains a positive and constructive work environment within the department as well as with other departments and promotes teamwork.18. Works in a safe manner, observing all safety requirements.19. Participates in all required departmental plant meetings as needed or directed.20. Must be able and available to work various shifts and hours including holidays and weekends.21. Must be able to work in the sanitation department when needed.22. Other duties, as assigned.B. Physical Activities Statement:The following constitute the minimal physical requirements that this person should be able to perform during the course of the workday.? Able to withstand different climates-including high temperatures.? Must be able to continuously lift, pull, and push at least 50 lbs.? Must be able to stand for long periods of time.? Must be able to bend, grasp, push, and pull.? Be on his/her feet for long periods of time.? Able to walk long distances.? Kneel, bend, grab, reach, pinch, fold, pick, and type.? Be able to climb ladders.? Able to work in dusty, noisy, and small work areas.? Able to wear safety equipment for prolonged periods of time (safety glasses, respirators, safety gloves, aprons, ear plugs, etc.).? Able to work in temperatures 40 to 105 F.4. Requirements:A. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE? HS or GED is required? VOCATIONAL/TECHNICAL EDUCATION PREFERRED? Industrial Maintenance/Electrical experience required? 4-7 years of experience in a mechanic role, preferably in a food manufacturing facility.? Electrical Work Certification Preferred.*Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience may be considered for the above.B. KNOWLEDGE, SKILSS & ABILITIES? KNOWLEDGE OF HYDRAULIC SYSTEMS? KNOWLEDGE OF PNEUMATIC SYSTEMS? KNOWLEDGE OF FUME/DUST COLLECTORS? KNOWLEDGE IN PLUMBING? KNOWLEDGE IN ELECTRICAL CIRCUITS? ABILITY TO READ SEMI-COMPLEX SCHEMATIC DIAGRAMS AND ASSIST IN TROUBLESHOOTING SYSTEMS.? MUST BE ABLE TO READ AND UNDERSTAND ELECTRICAL AND MECHANICAL PRINTS, USE SIMPLE SHOP MATH AND POSSESS KNOWLEDGE OF LOCAL, STATE AND FEDERAL CODES.? Knowledge of Mig/Tog & Arc welding equipment? Knowledge of gas cutting equipment and plasma cutting equipment? Knowledge of power tools such as drill presses, cut off saws, lathes, mills, and portable table tools, and hand tools? Knowledge of electrical test equipment, such as voltmeter, ohmmeter, ammeter,
