Position Name Counselor Advocate (Spanish-fluent) Position Description The Counselor Advocate will be responsible for managing up to 23 clients in the caseload and providing holistic trauma-informed clinical services to the survivors of trafficking. About the Position The Counselor Advocate reports directly to the Supervising Counselor Advocate. The Counselor Advocate will provide holistic case management to human trafficking survivors and be part of a team committed to the restoration of each survivor. The ideal candidate for this role has training and experience in providing trauma-informed care and working with individuals with trauma. The candidate can also complete administrative tasks related to daily work promptly and professionally. This position requires the candidate to be fluent in Spanish. This is a full-time position requiring a minimum of at least 35 hours per week. The shifts are generally Monday through Friday, 9-5 (lunch hour included), but they may vary to accommodate organization and client scheduling. Specific Responsibilities Provide comprehensive case management services to survivors of trafficking through advocacy, education, and resource coordination Conduct ongoing strengths and needs assessments, safety planning, crisis-prevention plans, impact assessments, and individualized service plans with clients Participate in administrative and operational tasks to ensure quality service delivery and fulfill the organization’s mission Conduct crisis intervention for potential survivors of trafficking Assist the referral team with referrals, intakes, trafficking identification, crisis intervention, safety planning, accompaniment, and resource coordination Complete required documentation in a timely and professional manner Practice trauma-informed, culturally and linguistically sensitive, survivor-centered practices in all interactions with clients, staff, service-provider organizations, and other stakeholders Attend weekly individual supervision, peer supervision, and other required team meetings Ensure adherence to HIPPA requirements as well as APA, ACA, and NASW ethical guidelines Requirements Affirm the Nicene Creed and attend a Christian church Fluent and comfortable in providing clinical services in Spanish Experience in conducting bio-psycho-social assessment, crisis intervention, resource coordination, case management, and clinical counseling Success in roles requiring execution of multiple tasks while responding to multiple priorities and ability to prioritize client’s needs Experience working with individuals impacted by trauma and working with immigrants and/or at-risk populations Proficiency in trauma-informed care, survivor-centered practices, and culture-humility Excellent relational skills and engagement with survivors Advanced in computer skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail Strongly believe and support DEI in organizational cultures and direct services Deep commitment to the healing and well-being of survivors of trafficking Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field Preferred Qualifications Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling MHC, MSW, MFT, MHC-LP, MSW-LP, MFT-LP, LMSW, LMHC, or LCSW preferred Compensation The salary is $70,000. Job Location This job is based in New York City and is an on-site position, requiring a minimum of 3 days in the Midtown office.
